Glutaredox Named Food Supplement

Glutaredox is a food supplement, in buccal tablets, based on Glutathione, L-Cystine, Selenium and Vitamin C. Selenium and Vitamin C help protect cells from oxidative stress. Reduced Glutathione, a fundamental chemical compound in the body, is of vital importance for all organs and tissues; in healthy cells the ratio of reduced glutathione to oxidized glutathione is normally 9: 1.
An imbalance of this ratio can indicate a marked redox activity in our organism. Its special chemical composition makes it indispensable in the processes of contrasting free radicals and for the regulation of many cellular functions, such as the synthesis and repair of DNA, the synthesis of proteins, the activation and regulation of various enzymes important for the life of the organism itself.
Reduced glutathione, as a cofactor of the enzyme glutathione transferase, is also fundamental in detoxification processes and performs the dual function of both supporting the enzymes responsible for this action and binding toxins, transforming them into compounds that can be easily eliminated through bile and / or urine.
Glutathione levels are physiologically reduced with age, accelerating cellular aging processes. Other factors also determine the reduction:

• environmental factors: radiation, smog, pollution;
• lifestyles: cigarette smoking, alcohol abuse;
• obesity: excess of fatty foods, which can increase oxidative stress levels;
• pathologies: correlated to high oxidative stress that determine a depletion and a consequent increased need for reduced Glutathione.

The support and integration of reduced Glutathione can therefore be useful in cases of deficiency due to both endogenous and exogenous causes.
Reduced Glutathione can be produced both endogenously, thanks to a metabolic process that determines the biosynthesis of reduced Glutathione starting from the three amino acids that constitute it (L-Cysteine, L-Glutamate and Glycine), and derive from exogenous sources (nutrition ).
It is estimated that the Glutathione taken with food is about 100 mg / day, but in order to be available at the tissue level it must cross numerous organic barriers that reduce its absorption. In fact, the ingested glutathione is almost completely degraded in the intestine by the enterocytes that use it in quantity
significant, not allowing its passage to the bloodstream and therefore its distribution to the various body districts.
Finally, the hepatic transit “phagocytes” an additional portion, therefore only a small part of the Glutathione taken orally is usable by the body.

How to use

We recommend taking 1 tablet a day to be dissolved slowly under the tongue.

Information on the individual components

Reduced glutathione : tripeptide synthesized by the body, thanks to its chemical structure and above all thanks to the SH group of cysteine, it participates in numerous redox processes; it is a cofactor of important enzymes.

Selenium : it is a cofactor of the enzyme Glutathione peroxidase, important for the disposal of hydrogen peroxide. It also contributes to the normal function of the immune system and to the protection of cells from oxidative stress.

Vitamin C : contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress, to the normal function of the immune system and to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.

L-Cystine : is an important precursor of Glutathione.
