Presentation :
Domilin Tablet : Each tablet contains Domperidone maleate BP
equivalent to 10 mg Domperidone.
Domilin suspension : Each 5 ml contains 5 mg Domperidone.
Description : Domperidone is a benzymidazole derivative which
has prokinetic and antiemetic properties.
Indication & uses :
Symptomatic treatment of the dyspeptic symptom complex which is
often associated with delayed gastric emptying or
gastrooesophageal reflux and
oesophagitis : epigastric sense of fullness, feeling of abdominal
distension, upper abdominal pain, flatulence, heartburn. Treatment
of nausea and vomiting of various origins including functional
organic, infectious, dietic, radiotherapy, medicine therapy.
Domilin relieves the nausea associated with migraine attacks.
Dosage & Administration :
Chronic dyspepsia :
Adults : 10 mg (1 Tab ) 3 times daily, 15-30 minutes before meals,
if necessary it can be repeated before retiring.
Children : 0.2-0.4 mg/kg every 4-8 hours daily before meals, if
necessary, it can be repeated before retiring.
Na usea and Vomiting :
Adults : 10-20 mg, 3-4 times daily before meals and before
retiring.
Children : 0.2-0.4 mgkg every 4-8 hours daily before meals and
before retiring.
Contraindication :
Patients with intolerance to this drug.
Do not use it the increase in gastric motility can be dangerous
eg. bleeding, mechanical obstruction or gastrointestinal perforation.
Side effects :
The most frequent reactions to Domperidone are those related to
elevated prolactin levels including breast tenderness,
galactorrhoea, gynaecomastia and amenorrhoea. This effects are
dose-related and gradually resolve after lowering the dose or
discontinuing treatment. Other rarely reported adverse reactions
include headache, diarrhoea, dizziness, mild and transient
abdominal cramps, dry mouth and drowsiness. Rare allergic
reactions such as rash and urticaria have also been reported.
Precaution & Warning :
Do not give antacids or antisecretory drugs concomitantly with
domperidone. If the administration of these drugs is required.
Domilin must he given after meals. Exercise caution in patient with
liver function disturbances.
Use in children : Blood brain barrier and metabolism functions
in babies have not been fully developed yet, therefore the
possibility of neurologic side effect can not be avoided in infants <1
year.
Interactions :
Anticholinergic drugs may inhibit antidyspeptic effect of
domperidone. Antacid and antisecretory drugs can reduce
bioavailability of domperidone if administered together.

Domilin Tablet : Box contains 10 blister strips of 10 tablets.
Domilin Suspension : Each bottle contants 100 ml suspension
